How do you prepare for a new school year?
I'll be honest...this year I'm just not sure what I should be doing. My job will look SIMILAR to last year but there has been a plot twist that developed. I am no longer being fully funded by my grant, which means I am no longer being funded as an administrator either. I am back to a teaching contract (which does mean I get two more weeks of summer) BUT does mean that my day to day experience will look slightly different.
I will still be doing a LOT of work with Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (my school was recognized as being a GOLD school last year by the State of Ohio), SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) and improving parent/school partnerships and relationships.
It is my hope that the work I do on these topics will help me give you information on what is becoming one of the fastest growing areas of work in schools in my area. I'm hoping I can provide you information as well to hopefully save you some of the headaches we have had.
In the mean time. I suggest a good planner, organizing some Google folders, new pens/markers, and soaking up some more summer days (if you have them).
